GOLDEN GATE PARK TO THE HAIGHT TOUR
Date(s) - 02/05/2021
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
We have some of the best urban parks in the U.S. here in San Francisco, including a World Class park far larger than Central Park in New York. We’ll show you round this S.F. gem, then we’ll walk you over to historic Haight-Ashbury, so you can learn about and experience this important historic neighborhood. You can also combine this tour with our Castro to the Mission Tour, by booking them both for the same day.
Start your morning Golden Gate Park to the Haight tour by learning about the Japanese Gardens and De Young Museum (including checking the great views from its tower, when open), enjoying the Japanese Gardens and De Young Museum, then visit some memorable hidden locations and cool sculptures known only to San Franciscans. After that we take you to famous Haight-Ashbury, a key location in the 1960’s Hippie/anti-Vietnam War Movement. You’ll pass by the residences of Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead and the infamous Charles Manson. You’ll also see the notorious Psychedelic Shop (now a pizza restaurant), where LSD was openly sold when that was legal (not any more!). We finish your Golden Gate Park to the Haight tour right in the heart of the neighborhood – which is the perfect place to get some lunch.
Our tours can sell out. If you can’t make a booking email [email protected], telling us when you want to go and how many guests are in your party. If we can squeeze you in we’ll let you know.
